East Side Dave’s Top 5 Halloween Movies!
BOO! Did I scare ya, Rat Rock Nation?! Well, if not, a few of the clips below certainly will! It’s officially Halloween Week and we’re getting ready for the upcoming Spooky Sunday with a creepy list! Behold! It’s East Side Dave’s Top 5 Halloween Movies! Ahhhhhhh!
5.) The Nightmare Before Christmas
We’re gonna start with this magical and dark work of genius from the imaginative Tim Burton. This flick gives you a healthy dose of Halloween spirit!
4.) The Shining
Stanley Kubrick’s one and only foray into the Horror genre yielded this masterpiece of psychological terror and one of the most memorable performances of Jack Nicholson’s career.
3.) Ghostbusters
Comedic director Ivan Reitman got a hold of Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis’ brilliant script, added the legendary Bill Murray, inserted ground-breaking (for the time) visual effects, a colorful New York City in the ’80’s, and a 112-and-a-half foot Stay Puft Marshmallow Man…and you get a classic.
2.) Beetlejuice
Brilliant director Tim Burton once again pops on this list with one of the greatest movies ever. An absulutely insane supernatural comedy with moments of darkness and absuridty, Beetlejuice is one of the best Halloween films of all time.
1.) Halloween (1978)/Halloween (2018)
Let’s face it. How can I put anything BESIDES Halloween at number one…I mean…the name of the movie is friggin’ HALLOWEEN! But, I wanna take this spot to strongly recommend the 2018 Halloween if you haven’t seen it. The movie is very true to the original. It has a great sinister vibe, the iconic music, tons of suspense, and the immortal Michael Meyers. So do yourself a favor, do a double-header of the 1978 Halloween and then the 2018 Halloween and you’ll be in for a night of horror! Ahhhhh!
