Jersey Rock Feature of the Week: 8th Annual Jammin’ For Jaclyn Benefit Concert
8th Annual Benefit Concert Rocking Facebook Live on 6/12!
Each year local artist Michael Squillace teams with RJC Charities Inc. to put on a concert that honors the memory of his sister Jaclyn and provides hope for people battling the disease that took her life. Jammin’ For Jaclyn raises money for area cancer patients through the efforts of talented local musicians and caring volunteers.
Throughout much of its history Jammin’ For Jaclyn existed as an all-day, live, in-person concert. The covid-19 pandemic forced the fundraiser into an online live stream format last year. Michael Squillace plans to return to the live, in-person format in the future, however this year’s benefit will also be a live stream concert event. Jammin’ For Jaclyn will rock facebook live on Saturday 6/12 from 7:00 pm to 10:30 pm with performances from Levy Okun, SOF, Sahara Moon, Nick Ryan, Fern, Taylor Tote, Natalie Farrell, and Jake Tavill.
This year’s concert benefits Brian DaSilva, a 42-year-old father of 2 currently battling pancreatic cancer. If you would like to donate now, you can do so at jamminforjaclyn.org or givebutter.com/jamminforjaclyn. In addition to making a regular donation, you can also enter the 50/50.
Tune to Jersey Rock on 95.9 The Rat Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 11:30 pm to hear songs from the artists performing on the Jammin’ For Jaclyn live stream. Organizer Michael Squillace will call in to the show each night! Tuesday night we’ll turn up the latest from The Foes of Fern. Wendesday night we will rock Saraha Moon. The feature closes out Thursday night with Jake Tavill and Indigo Soul.
