Jersey Rock Artist of the Week: Lauren Gill
At just 14 years-old Lauren Gill is already 6 years into her music career. In that time she has accomplished much, releasing 3 EP’s and performing in front of large crowds on the stages of The Stone Pony, The Saint, The Two River Theater, House Of Independents, The Asbury Lanes, and The Prudential Center. She has not only performed at legendary venues, but also shared the stage with a legendary artist: Bruce Springsteen.
Lauren Gill credits her achievements to her training at The Lakehouse Music Academy in Asbury Park. The school, lead by Jon Liedersdorf, provides students of all ages and skill levels with programs taught by veteran musicians. Students have the opportunity to perform at special events and utilize the Lakehouse recording studios. Learn more at lakehousemusicademy.com.
In addition to fronting her own band, Dress Code, Lauren Gill is a member of The Lakehouse Jr. Pros. The group is comprised of skilled students and performs across the area. Lauren is also a recording artist on the Lakehouse music label Moto Records. Check out her page at motorecords.com.
Lauren Gill’s latest EP “Cheaters” is out now. The production value of the EP is on par with artists well beyond Lauren’s years. Gill’s songwriting is from the heart and should connect with listeners of all ages. However, the EP’s greatest impact may be with those in the artist’s own age range; not only because it speaks to teenage experience but because it will give any young person interested in music something to shoot for.
“Cheaters” is available on all streaming platforms. Check it out HERE.
Tune to Jersey Rock on 95.9 The Rat Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 11:30 pm to hear cuts from Lauren Gill’s “Cheaters” EP. Lauren will call in to the show each night!
