Asbury Park Brewery Has Opened Their New Spot and It’s Awesome
Well you know us here at The Rat we love our beer, and now the Asbury Park Brewery has a new location opened, at 614 Cookman Ave, and it’s all about rock and roll. The founders of Asbury Park Brewery all came together by playing their different types of brands of rock music at the many spots around Asbury and more in this historic city by the sea.
Gotts and the Rat Pack were so thankful to get an invite for last week’s grand opening. Just walking into the new Asbury Park Brewery, you feel like a rock star. That being said, none other than the famous and Jersey’s very own, lead singer Brian Fallon of the band Gaslight Anthem was there to share pints with Gotts.
They were chatting it up and sharing stories about his upcoming tour, even talking about Bruce and what he has been up to.
Cool guy, and here at The Rat we love rocking his tunes. Make sure to see the boys of Gaslight rock out the Stone Pony Summer Stage on August 16th. Click HERE for tickets and more information.
Asbury Park Brewery And What To Expect
You mention beer, and pretty much everyone on The Rat staff will be there. Asbury Park Brewery opened its doors in an old warehouse in 2016. It quickly became a favorite spot of locals and beer enthusiasts, as well as touring bands. The tasting room itself became a favorite spot for punk bands coming through the area.
The walls are covered with very cool pictures of rock stars, and old concert promotions posters. One of the cool things is when you look behind the bar you will find a bunch of records, and there are thousands of them.
If you want to get comfortable, there is no issue there because you can lounge out on one of their couches and put your beers on a table that has a speaker with a glass on top. If you look up you will find a motorcycle right above the bathrooms. This place is all about rock and roll!
Bob McLynn, the founder learned about good beer while touring Europe in 1994 and has said “Beer and music have always been my 2 passions. I was one of those guys who would drink a case of light beer on a weekend when I was younger.
I went to Europe for the first time with my band for 2 months right after graduating from Rutgers. We played in 13 different countries, 14 shows in Germany alone. Every city had its brewery and that’s what we would get backstage each night. It changed me forever.
Also, he added, “We’re pretty simple, we love beer and we love music. When you put them together we are the happiest”.
