Jersey Rock Artist of the Week: Lou Panico
New Album “Dunk Tank” Available Now!
Rocking the Low Dive in Asbury Park this Saturday Night!
Lou Panico’s debut solo album “Dunk Tank” is out now! It’s the product of a long musical journey that took him across international boundaries and then back to Asbury Park. Known for his work with Socratic, Levy & The Oaks, and Natalie Farrell, Lou Panico has spent much of this decade exploring a solo career. The 2020 lockdown afforded him the time to work on his own music and over the last couple of years he has released many great singles. All of it was built towards the release of the new album. He said:
“This is the first time I wrote all of the songs myself. I played most of the instruments on the record outside of the drums. It was cool to do, definitely a bucket list item of mine. It’s been completely cathartic.”
“Dunk Tank” is an introspective, uplifting, and overall fun release that should be easily accessible for most fans of great music. Expect high energy and hard rocking tracks that don’t take themselves too seriously. In an age where people are anxiously doom-scrolling on their cellphones, this is a much-needed and welcome diversion. We recommend taking a break from the endless video rabbit hole and heading over to Spotify!
Don’t miss Lou Panico at the Low Dive on the Asbury Park Boardwalk on Saturday, February 17. Admission is free and it’s sure to be a serious party. Speaking of the show, Lou Panico said:
“Its gonna be slammin’ We got Bobby Mahoney opening the show! He definitely throws the party. I’ll be playing my album through from beginning to end with maybe a few covers at the end depending on how drunk everyone is!”
Get ready for the party by tuning into Jersey Rock Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 11:30pm on 95.9 The RAT. Lou Panico will call in to the show each night and we’ll turn up selections from “Dunk Tank”!

Worst Music Of The 1980s
Hey there Rat Rock Nation, we all have our hits of the 1980’s era. Check this list from Rolling Stone Magazine of the top songs of the 80s by clicking right HERE. But what was the WORST SONGS of that time? I was out and about the other day, and sitting at the bar when a song came on. Someone had said this was the worst song of the 80s.
This stirred the pot because it got a bunch of other people talking about the worst song of the 1980s. I then decided to pull out the pen and pad and take notes. Now let’s make a list to share, and get your opinion to see if you agree. Believe me, there are a ton of songs on here that I still sing along with myself when I hear them. THIS IS JUST AN OPINION AND DON’T TAKE IT TO HEART PLEASE.
Much Love !
Music That Was Not The Worst Of The 1980s:
As we all know the 80’s was rock and roll. The hair spray to the Ford Mustangs, everyone in that period was ready to rock. What a great time to be alive too, that time around gave us some of the best bands ever, and are legends. From Metallica to Guns And Roses even Michael Jackson and Beastie Boys were changing the scene. It was all about music, fun, and hits. Just think back to when MTV was music and showing the videos to bring life to it. I know, they then decided to make a mockery of where we live with a show called the “Jersey Shore.”
J-Wow Looking Like HUH?
