Toms River Taco-Tastic Will Be A Drive Thru, But When?
Everyone loves Tacos. Meanwhile the thought of getting them at a drive through, any other place around here besides Taco Bell, seemed downright loco!
That is until now. Taco-Tastic, who’s Fischer Blvd location does fantastic year round business. As well as a Summer season stand on the Seaside Boardwalk. They also have a downtown Main Street location, Route 9 in Lanoka Harbor, and a Brick location. However we are eagerly anticipating the certain opening of another location.
This one will be a Drive Thru!
The new Taco-Tastic restaurant will be for those in a hurry to eat their tacos in their car, or drive them home. Taco-Tastic Coming Soon signs are up at the site of the former Farm Stores building. Meanwhile that venture lasted barely a year in that location.
Originally the idea seemed pretty cool – the drive through convenience store concept had worked prior. With Farm Stores in other parts of the region, as well as Dairy Barn drive throughs on Long Island.
However, what wasn’t considered proved to be the fatal flaw of the Toms River Farm Store was the 175 Route 37 location was right next door to one of the busiest Wawa stores in the County, if not the state! A Wawa that generations of Donovan Catholic High School students had grown up on, due to it’s proximity to the school. Sadly Farm Store didn’t stand a chance.
Meanwhile, there is still no word on when the Route 37 Taco-Tastic will be opening.
However, one would have to think it’s sometime in the next 30 days by the looks of things. Those Donovan Catholic kids are so luckyyyyyyy! Well if they have cars, I guess! Here’s a general look at the basic menu from Taco-Tastic: https://www.taco-tastic.com/menu-1 I personally really like Taco-Tastic’s product better than some of the other taco places in the area. Firstly, their prices are reasonable. Second, they are owned and operated by real life Mexican Americans. So, you get an authenticity you just don’t see with the other run of the mill, overpriced chain places in our neck of the woods.
