Between Covid-19 cancellations and bad weather, Silverton has not enjoyed it's annual Fall Festival since 2019. However, organizers say it's on this year despite the forecast.
With the forecast calling for showers for part of the day this Saturday, October 7th, Fire Department spokesman Michael Cocco reached out to us yesterday to help get the word out.
The word is ON. The festival is a go, rain or shine. As is the Motorcycle Poker Run and the inaugural 5K run through Silverton.
Silverton Fire DeptThe festival is free to attend.
The organizers invite all of Silverton to join their community for a fun day of camaraderie. The event will be packed with activities, food, and refreshments from local vendors. Furthermore, there will be fire and vehicle extraction demos, Toms River police motorcycle and K9 Demos, and live music from the popular local band, The Pickles!
Come hungry and thirsty.
There will be plenty of choices for food and beverage at this year's Fall Festival. Food vendors will include Fit Chicks, Harry's Smoking BBQ, House Of Fudge, Jersey Mike's, Johnny G's, We So Korny Popcorn, and Yellow Brick Road Ice Cream Shop. Meanwhile local legends Icarus Brewing will be serving up some of their finest seasonal beers. Those 21 and older can purchase an "all you can drink" wristband for the day, or pay as you go.
Bring the kiddies!
It's a fun community family day as well. The little ones can take part in the bounce house, face painting, sand art, pony rides, a petting zoo, and a pumpkin grove!

Finally, the festival runs from 11am until 6pm on the grounds of and inside the Silverton Volunteer Fire Company Station 29, at 15 Kettle Creek Road in the Silverton section of Toms River. Furthermore, proceeds from the 5K will be donated in support of an active Station 29 Firefighter who recently suffered a major accident. The proceeds will go to assist with their medical and living expenses.
