Jersey Rock Band of the Week: The Dead Daisies
Rocking The Landis Theater in Vineland on August 23!
It’s hard to believe but it’s been ten years since the Dead Daisies came alive on the Rock scene. They unearthed a vintage 70’s sound with a collection of world-class musicians. Even though their name draws inspiration from the phrase “pushing up the daisies” and their imagery is based on Mexico’s Day of the Dead Celebration, the mission for The Dead Daisies is all about life. They exist to keep Rock music alive!
The Dead Daisies is made up of a lively list of Rock veterans. The current lineup includes John Corabi (Scream/Motley Crue), David Lowy (Red Phoenix/Mink), Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake/Dio), Michael Devin (Whitesnake), and New Jersey’s own Brian Tichy (Ozzy/Foreigner)!
Of course, The Dead Daisies have gone through several incarnations, which has led to a truly rich catalog of six albums. In celebration of ten years as well as that deep background, The Dead Daisies will release their “Best Of” album on double CD and vinyl on August 18. The release will include some of the collectives’ favorite tracks and others that have become a staple part of every Daisies Touring Set List. Two previously unreleased songs from their last recording session will also appear on the album. Pre-order it now at thedeaddaisies.com.
While the “Best Of” release is a great way to mark a decade of existence. The Dead Daisies have even more planned. A world tour is on the way. David Lowy enthusiastically explained:
“It’s been an amazing decade with The Daisies! We’ve rocked out with some of the best in the business, toured the globe, released eight albums and are thrilled to be showcasing the body of work from over the last decade with our upcoming “Best Of” Album release and tour. I’m excited to be welcoming John Corabi back to the band. Can’t wait to get back on the road again in 2023 to perform for our fans!”
Before The Daisies head out to Europe and Japan, they will rock several US dates. The closest to us is August 23 at The Landis Theater in Vineland. It will be a homecoming for Philadelphia native John Corabi and North Jersey native Brian Tichy. The event promises to be nothing short of a most bodacious bash! Doors are at 7:00 pm. The Age Of Ore will open the show. Tickets are available HERE.
Tune to Jersey Rock on 95.9 The RAT Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 11:30 pm to hear selections from The Dead Daisies’ “Best Of” album. Singer John Corabi will call into the show each night!

Shorts to shoes and accessories. If you want to set the mood this summer on the beach, at the pool, or on the boat, you have got to get into some Yacht Rock gear! Oh and the best part is, you don’t even need a Yacht just some cool Yacht Rock Clothing!
First a little history. According to Wikipedia, Yacht Rock ”is a broad music style and aesthetic commonly associated with soft rock, one of the most commercially successful genres from the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s. Drawing on sources such as smooth soul, smooth jazz, R&B, and disco, common stylistic traits include high-quality production, clean vocals, and a focus on light, catchy melodies. ” Its name, coined in 2005 by the makers of the online video series Yacht Rock, was derived from its association with the popular Southern Californian leisure activity of sailing.
So the music fits the vibe. Think Christopher Cross, Toto’s Africa, and of course the Yacht Rock Staple. Baker Street. Imagine yourself with a glass of sparkling white wine, cruising near Santa Barbara on your Benetti, and you’re there. Now you just need the clothes. You need this look!
Well, the look is fire, in my opinion. From middle-aged guys with dad bods to young Yacht Rockers flaunting their open Hawaiian shirts, anyone can get down with this look this summer! Oh, and it’s not just the fellas. The ladies can find their Yacht Rock Clothing groove with hats shirts and more!
