It's been a journey for Levy Okun. He's existed as a fixture on the Jersey Rock scene through multiple musical incarnations. He has achieved critical and commercial success and earned the respect and admiration of his peers. He received international acclaim during the height of the Emo era as the lead guitar player and backing vocalist of Drive Thru Records band Socratic. As the lead singer of Levy & The Oaks, he brought an organic, Folk/Americana Rock sound to the Asbury Park scene. Through it all he's drawn from within to craft multi-faceted, meaningful tunes and churn out one great performance after another.
And it seems like he's just getting started.
They say there's only so many times you can "go to the well." Sooner or later one reaches an artistic dead end. When that happens, many give up. However, Levy Okun has re-invented himself more than once. Where some believe hitting an artistic wall is the end of the story, he views it as the end of a chapter. Two decades into his music career he's ready to turn another page for a fresh new entry. On July 21 Levy Okun will release his debut solo album.
"Levy Okun Says Hello" promises to be a meaningful and melodic LP. Expect deep lyrics, brilliant vocals, and compositions that will stay in your head long after the music has stopped. Keep an eye out for it on Apple Music and Spotify!
