Heinz has been making ketchup since 1876! Although the original recipe hasn't changed much, the Pittsburgh based company has decided to spice things up!

With the influx of heat to the American pallet, on everything from hot sauce and salsa, to chips and nuts, Heinz felt compelled to up their spice game.

Heinz already makes a Siracha Ketchup, launched in 2020. However, the new flavors being released are for the hard core hot sauce fan! The new Heinz Hot Varieties feature unique pepper bases with varying heat levels. Furthermore, you likely will have these new flavors for your Mother's Day BBQ, as Heinz Hot Varieties are rolling out now at retailers nationwide.

Meanwhile, the flavors on the way are very exciting.

Heinz Spicy Ketchup Chipotle features the brand’s signature thick and rich ketchup blended with mild chipotle. There’s  Heinz Spicy Ketchup Jalapeño, Heinz Spicy Ketchup Habanero, and Heinz Hot 57 Sauce. A classic 57 Steak Sauce blended with real jalapeño peppers for a simple way to add zest and heat.

Heinz is not the first to blaze the spicy ketchup trail.

Heinz may be the most famous ketchup maker in the USA, but they are not the first company to come out with spicy varieties of a frie's best friend . The Marie Sharp owned Melinda's Hot Sauce also has spicy brands of ketchup available online and in some major chain and smaller specialty retailers. Their flavors include the same as the Heinz varieties, but also offer a Black Pepper Ketchup, and a Ghost Pepper Ketchup! You can check out the full list here: https://melindas.com/ketchup/.

In case you were wondering, Heinz's Habanero Ketchup is reported to be the spiciest of their new batch, rolling out soon. Let's get ready to take fries, nugs, and hot dogs to the next level this summer!
