Toms River Has A Brand New Old School Italian Deli
Hey Toms River, we have a brand-new old school Italian Deli & Market! Let’s welcome Gio’s Italian Deli & Market to Toms River, located at 896 Fischer Blvd.
Gio’s took over the space that was once occupied by Scala’s Deli & Catering who closed their doors earlier this year after serving our community for a decade.
Who Owns This New Italian Deli?
Gio’s is owned by John Giaquinto who also owns J&S Pork Store in Lodi, New Jersey which sits on the corner of Union Street and Woodside Avenue.
Gio’s had their official grand opening this past Saturday June 22nd and the place was hopping with a live D.J. and samples of their delicious fresh mozzarella. All the food is homemade on the premises.
You automatically get that old school Italian feel the minute you walk in. Prosciutto and salami hanging from the ceiling. The smell of fresh cooked meatballs, eggplant rollatini, arancini, stuffed artichokes, fried eggplant, and other fantastic dishes fill the air and immediately have you salivating. On my next visit, I must try the stuffed zucchini with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes and homemade breadcrumbs.
There’s nothing better than grabbing a warm fresh ball of homemade mozzarella, a nice loaf of seeded Italian bread, and roasted red peppers and heading to home to dive in.
Here’s A List Of The Best Sandwiches On The Jersey Shore – Spring 2024 Edition
The fresh made sandwiches are huge and loaded with top quality meats from Boar’s Head, DiLusso, and other fine names.
I saw a gorgeous masterpiece of a sandwich fit for a king made with ham. imported prosciutto, capicola, and fresh mozzarella, on a beautiful, seeded loaf of Italian bread, add a little balsamic glaze and I’m in heaven.
The #7 is called The Mazzoni’s Magic – Grilled Chicken, Arugula, Fresh Mozzarella, and sundried tomatoes on fresh seeed Italian bread. (See below)
The market has a few tables and chairs for you to enjoy your sandwich or meal. It’s a good thing because I don’t know if I could make it home without taking a bite.
Aside from the huge selection of fresh pasta, ravioli, fresh grated cheeses, homemade salads, olives, peppers & hot dishes, Gio’s carries a variety of imported dry pasta, sauces, spreads, bread sticks, tarali, and more. Plus they’re prepared to cater your next big event.
Don’t forget the sweets like cannoli, pistachio cake, &cookies. It’s a beautiful store with bright red walls and a welcoming staff.
I look forward to becoming a good customer.
