Police: Alleged Thief Stole $9K From Senior’s Bank Account, in Howell
Let’s see if we can catch this guy!
Local police are asking for your help as an alleged thief stole $9K from a senior’s bank account. This all went down at the ShopRite on Rt 9 in Howell, and check this out, this all went down back on July 27th, and it has just been under investigation, now the police are narrowing it down to this guy and want to question him.
Take a look at the photo being shared by the Howell Police Department, and show everyone you know to see if we can locate this guy. Anyone identifying the man pictured above is asked to call Howell police Detective Vincent Bonner at 732-938-4575 X 2647.
What Exactly Happened
Well, this guy must have been watching this older man and took a mental note of the man’s debit card PIN as the man was using the self-checkout lane.
After that, the suspect followed him out to the parking lot where he then distracted the senior by dropping a $20 bill on the ground according to police.
Once the older man was not paying attention, this suspect lifted his wallet and removed his debit card without him knowing it, and at that point, took off.
That is when the accused scammer went to a local Bank of America branch and used the debit card to make four separate cash withdrawals, police said.
ONly after checking his bank statement a few days later did the victim know his card was even missing! I hope they catch this guy and have to pay back everything and then take the senior and pick up his next grocery bills before they send him to jail.
