Well, let's get you over to Wall Township, where a woman was just charged with harassing a high school football player. Her name is Kelly Davis, 53, and she was also charged with disorderly conduct after confronting a 17-year-old Howell football player after they lost a game Friday night, according to the Wall Police.

What Went Down In Wall Township At The High School Game

Kelly was charged after going onto the field at Wall High School and going up to the player during the post-game, police said. Some people in attendance at the game said, "She was very aggressive and disruptive, putting up some red flags to the other players, coaches, and spectators." Police did not say what led up to the confrontation.

Check this out: Authorities said this fight involved both police and school security who broke up the brawl. At the point of some people responding, police said the situation calmed down a bit, and Davis was brought off the field and school grounds.

Then on Saturday, Davis was charged with disorderly conduct and harassment. According to the police, she will be in front of a judge shortly in Wall Township Municipal Court. By the way, Wall beat Howell 24-14 in the game, and Kelly had the beef with the player.

"The Wall Township Police Department is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful atmosphere at school events and will continue to address any behavior that disrupts this environment," the police department said in a recent statement. Despite these charges, every defendant is presumed innocent, unless and until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, following a trial at which the defendant has all the trial rights guaranteed by the United States Constitution and New Jersey State Law.

TBT: Wall Township’s Wishing Tree

In May of 2020 do you recall where you were and what you were doing?

It seems like a long, long time ago and yet it's only three years.  A lot has happened in that time.

Me?  I was here at 95.9 The Rat heading to the office every day to try to make sense out of the pandemic; then going home and home schooling the kids.  Boy, I really don't want to go back to that even though being part of their learning to read is something I'll always cherish.

Trying to keep the family active in those early months was a goal of mine so I often put the bikes on the bike rack and we rolled down the Manasquan Bike Trail or the easier trails at Allaire State Park.

I'd been on that bike trail a hundred and one times in the past - I used it to train for the half-marathon I did to raise money for the LADACIN Network.  But I'd never, ever seen anything like I saw that day.

Not far from where I'd parked I found the Wall Township Wishing Tree.  The tree was a big evergreen; like a Christmas tree.  Someone had left plastic cards and sharpies for the public to use to post wishes to hang on the tree.  This tree was heavy with humanity.

I stopped and lingered over the wishes.  As you can see, many are quite specific to what we were living through in May of 2020.  But not all of them are about the pandemic.  Quite a few of the wishes reflect personal battles.  Others take a step back and seem to include all of us.  The pictures offer a time machine to what seems like a different time.

I can't help but wonder how some of these wishes worked out.  I'm hoping that all your wishes came true.

Gotts is the unofficial mascot of the county. Whenever WRAT is hosting an event, people ask if Gotts will be there. there. Like Bigfoot, many people claim to see him in the area. According to Gotts, he was thrown out of home school in Monroe Township. To keep up with his own legend, Gotts likes writing about wacky local news that happens – such as pepperoni vandals. His favorite movie is Point Break, and is a big lover of Miller Lite. His favorite words to live by are “The windshield is always bigger than the rearview mirror”.
