Ed Bassmaster Crushes It at The New House Of Independence
The New House Of Independence has reopened and our Promotions Coordinator, Atomic Rob went last night to check out one of his favorite funnymen, Ed Bassmaster. We have Rob’s review of his evening.
Who The Hell Is Ed Bassmaster?
Is he a fisherman? A comedian? Performance Artist? According to Wikipedia, Ed Bassmaster is 51-year-old Edwin Rodriguez, from Philadelphia. He started as a Youtuber in 2006, and by 2015 had his show on Country Music Television. He continues to tour around the country with his brand of comedy.
Here’s one of Ed’s more popular skits
As for HOI, Atomic Rob was quite impressed. He’s quoted as saying, “
Getting to the new House Of Independence and leaving was easy. The Uber was cheap and came quickly. The venue was clean, and nice and cold. There was a good-sized crowd. The bleachers were pretty much filled and then many people stood on the balcony. They had multiple bartenders working at the bar, so I did not have to wait for a drink. The beers were ice-cold.
They had a large selection of beers and probably any cocktail you wanted. The Miller Lite pint was $7, which is cheap for a concert venue. I also liked how they kept a free water cooler on the bar for all to drink. The bathrooms smelled fresh and were clean. They even had a private handicapped bathroom.

The Ed Bassmaster Show went on for almost 2 hours, and the crowd was into it the whole time. The show was let out around 9 pm. It is awesome to come out and be right there in downtown Asbury. So many great drink and food options right there within walking distance. We went to Johnny Macs for a nightcap before heading home. The New House Of Independence is back!
