As we all know it was HOT this past week and going into the weekend with the heat wave here in New Jersey. Hope you stay hydrated and get to cool off in a pool, or even down at the beach.

I saw a lot of people who really couldn't handle it and had to go back home for the air conditioning. I even overheard one gentleman tell his wife "screw this I'll be in the car with the AC on."

Today we get a break, but not for long so enjoy it while it lasts. We will be getting into the mid 80's today and that is just about normal for late June. This will be the first time since June 16 that the weather was not at least getting around 90 degrees.

Just the other day New Jersey hit 100 degrees, and Sunday was not far off getting up to 99 degrees and even setting a record high.

When Is The Next Heat Wave Coming?

Tonight should be a beautiful night, cooling down and getting into the 60's. Come tomorrow though get ready. Expect a blast of heat and getting into the upper 80s and lower 90s. If it's worth anything, it will at least be sunny, and no storms are expected.

On Wednesday will be just as hot getting into the low 90s and will be muggy conditions according to NJ Weather Network.

Please make sure you stay hydrated, especially if you are working outside and you know I will be. Make sure you do not leave your pets inside your cars, the best bet is to keep them home. Also check in with the elderly, to make sure they are staying cool and inside.

Gotts is the unofficial mascot of the county. Whenever WRAT is hosting an event, people ask if Gotts will be there. there. Like Bigfoot, many people claim to see him in the area. According to Gotts, he was thrown out of home school in Monroe Township. To keep up with his own legend, Gotts likes writing about wacky local news that happens – such as pepperoni vandals. His favorite movie is Point Break, and is a big lover of Miller Lite. His favorite words to live by are “The windshield is always bigger than the rearview mirror”.
