WATCH: Chinese Zoo Dyes Dogs To Impersonate Pandas
A Chinese Zoo has a bit of an issue…
Their panda’ section features small dogs that have been dyed black and white.
According to a local media report, the crazy case came out last week when the zoo in the city of Taizhou first showed the dogs.
Xiong Mao Quan, meaning ‘panda dogs,’ has some people scratching their heads online after videos of them were posted.
This story is a bit crazy, why in the world would a zoo try to pass off dogs as panda’s? This is almost like when Greg Foker spray paints the cat in the movie “Meet The Parents ?” Check Out The Video
Why Would They Do That?
Why would they do such a weird thing in the first place? The zoo has reported that they do not have any giant pandas, so the colored dogs are meant to “fill in the blank.”
The showcase has so far, been something of a hit as there has been a huge increase in people since it opened last week.
It is not clear whether the amount of visitors is the cause of people being tricked into thinking that there were pandas.
A lot of people are saying how fake this is, but, the zoo is saying that the display is technically on the up-and-up. “Featuring Chow Chow dogs are correct and exactly describes what they are,” a worker at the zoo said, “so we are not cheating our visitors.”
Some people have posted online have accused the zoo of abusing the animals by the dye job. However, a pet beautician has come forward and stated to a Chinese media outlet that this was likely safe.
