The Blonde Shallot Opens a 2nd Location On The Jersey Shore!
The Blonde Shallot’s original location is on Prospect Ave in Little Silver, N.J. It’s a Grab n’ Go Salad Shop also serving Hot Soups, Grain Bowls, & Daily Specials. Healthy food within reach, and I’m ready for it.
The folks in Little Silver and the surrounding towns know all about this dynamite little shop, serving pre-made salads that are freshly made each morning, like: the Chinese Chicken made with: romaine, cabbage, carrot, shredded chicken, almond, scallion, sesame seed, ginger-tamari dressing, along with hearty hot soups, sandwiches, lettuce wraps, ramen and more.
I also like that you can pick up items to create your own meals on nights that you don’t have time to cook dinner. I love the option of building my own meals with dishes like Carne Asada Flank Steak, Eggplant Meatballs, or Chicken Piccata.
Where Can I Find The New Location On The Jersey Shore?
A little closer to our home, we welcome their 2nd location, now open at 527 Washington Blvd, Sea Girt, NJ 08750. That’s just a few blocks from the beach and a few miles from my office.
No need to pack up a picnic basket or a cooler for the beach when you can grab some healthy goodies for lunch from this darling little shop.
I’ve read that the salad dressings are full of flavor, and the salad combinations are fun. I’d hit the Blonde Chopped Salad made with: romaine, iceberg, radicchio, celery, cucumber, pecorino, cherry peppers, marcona almonds, chickpeas, provolone, Castelvetrano olives, & red wine vinaigrette.
The sandwiches look just as fabulous. I’m eyeballing something called, Casey’s Sandwich, made with: crispy chicken, bacon, tomato, lettuce, avocado, red onion, BBQ mayo, on a white wrap.
They also have a Thanksgiving type sandwich, and it’s not even Thanksgiving! They call it, “The Gobbler” made with Roasted Turkey, Stuffing, Mayo, Cranberry Sauce, on Sourdough Bread.
You can also choose from Pretzel Coated Chicken Tenders, Miso Salmon, Steak Tacos, and a variety of daily specials.
You can also pick up things like eggs, milk, and bread on your way home from work or the beach.
The Blonde Shallot’s owner, Jessica Rogers of Little Silver took over the Washington Boulevard storefront recently vacated by Joe Leone’s Gastronomia.
It was sad to say goodbye to Joe Leone’s Seagirt location, but having Jessica and The Blonde Shallot take over that spot eased our sadness.
According to the Asbury Park Press, Rogers started The Blonde Shallot with the idea of providing healthy food and healthier versions of comfort food for families, the kind of nourishing dishes friends would drop off after her children were born. She was thinking: “I know a lot of women out there that would love this.”
At The Blonde Shallot, she models the menu — sandwiches and salads that change seasonally, plus prepared meals and ingredients you can build a meal around — after how she likes to feed her family.
Now our office has a new place to grab a healthy lunch.
