Learn to Spot Drug Dangers: Interactive Programs at The Ocean County Library
Parents, guardians and individuals are encouraged to attend any of four educational, interactive programs that focus on drug use and abuse in Ocean County, presented by the Ocean County Health Department.
“Drugs 101: Drug Trends for Ocean County Parents” will take place at four branches:
- Tuesday, October 4, 6:30 PM – Brick Branch, 301 Chambers Bridge Road, (732) 477-4513, presented by Renata Bradshaw, OCHD Program Monitor
- Thursday, October 20, 6:30 PM – Manchester Branch, 21 Colonial Drive, (732) 657-7600, presented by Kelly Larney, Senior Field Representative, Health Education
- Wednesday, November 2, 6:30 PM – Toms River Branch, 101 Washington Street, (732) 349-6200, presented by Amanda Gan, MBA, CHES®, Program Development Specialist, Community Service
- Tuesday, November 15, 6:30 PM – Little Egg Harbor Branch, 290 Mathistown Road, (609) 294-1197, presented by Kelly Larney, Senior Field Representative, Health Education
Each two-hour program will examine a variety of drugs, substances specifically found in Ocean County, and their impacts. Attendees will learn slang, understand how substances are used, and recognize how people under the influence react.
Attendees will gain awareness of illicit substances and paraphernalia by walking through an interactive teenage bedroom display that contains signs of drug use and abuse.
Registration is required to attend these free programs.
