Did you hear about the deer that crashed through a window of Cedar Grove Elementary School in Toms River ?

I see deer in my backyard all the time. My kittie loves to watch them through the window. He can spend hours watching them eat grass and any other greenery they can find. I'm lucky  that we have passive deer in our neighborhood who don't pay too much attention to the little kittie in the window.

Then I read a story on NJ.com, about a deer who took over the empty school and ran alone through hallways and a classroom before the cops showed up and helped get the deer out of the building.

A local man walking his dog at about 10 p.m. Saturday evening near Cedar Grove Elementary School saw the deer crash through a window and called the cops, according to a Toms River police spokeswoman.

Footage from a police body cam shows the deer running through a hallway, enter a classroom and scurry across what appears to be a teacher’s desk and a piece of furniture with drawers while knocking over decorations with the Toms River police on his trail.

The deer is then seen running into a wooded area behind the school on Cedar Grove Road.

Thank goodness the Toms River police were able to usher the deer to safety.

Police had a blast with the incident creating a 39-second video set to music of “Run Rudolph Run.” I just wish they would have used the Keith Richards version of this Chuck Berry classic instead.
