Spirit Christmas Coming To Brick
Spirit Halloween owner Spencer Spirit Holdings Inc. plans to launch its new concept, Spirit Christmas starting next month with 10 locations. Nearly half the locations will be in New Jersey, including one in Brick!
The current location of the Spirit Halloween in Brick is at 479 Route 70, in the Marketplace At Brick. Ironically, the space was one of the now-defunct Christmas Tree Shops. According to Egg Harbor-based parent company Spencer Spirit Holdings, the new holiday-themed pop-up will carry a vast assortment of decorations, clothing, inflatables, and stocking stuffer items. Guests will also be able to meet Santa Claus for their annual Christmas card photo. There will be a life-sized Gingerbread Village inside each Spirit Christmas location, where kids will be able to mail letters to the North Pole and find out if they made the naughty or nice list! About Spencer Spirit Holdings
In 1990, Spirit founder Joseph Marver, began extending his leases from stores past Halloween into November and December to try the Christmas concept out, but it died out. When Spencer acquired Spirit Halloween, they tried the concept of Spirit Christmas again in 2005 and 2006 with little success. However as anyone with one working eye will attest to, the last 2 decades has seen Spirit Halloween explode in popularity, as well as Christmas themed apparel and outrageous inflatables. One would think Spirit Christmas aims to capitalize on this trend and become the community’s one stop shop for everything Christmas, all under one roof.
Other Proposed Locations For Spirit Christmas Pop Ups
According to NJ BIZ, in addition to Brick, the other current Spirit Halloween locations that will pop up as Spirit Christmas , beginning in as early as October 18th are located in Mays Landing, Marlton, and Woodbridge in New Jersey. Meanwhile, there are three locations in New York State; Albany, Poughkeepsie, and Bohemia, one in Erie, Pennsylvania, and one in Waterford, Connecticut.

The Annual Silverton Fall Festival Photo Gallery
Here are some photos I shot at the Annual Silverton Fall Festival the Rat attended on Saturday, October 5th, at the Silverton Volunteer Fire House.
It was a fantastic day for a local community to come together. There were dozens of vendors, plus food trucks and local food vendors out the wazooo!
There was a kids zone, a petting zoo, and raffles. Meanwhile, there were Silverton Fire Department life-saving demonstrations, the live band We’ll Be Fine, and the Rat Pack on the scene for half the day with games and giveaways! The Icarus beer truck showed up and the Oktoberfest brews were flowin’! What a great day to be part of a fantastic community like Silverton! Special Thanks to Firemen Mike Cocco and Chip Naturale for their hospitality. The Silverton Fall Festival is held every year on the first Saturday in October, weather permitting.
