A Great Experience At Silverton Farms For The 4th Of July Weekend
A trip to Silverton Farms, at 1520 Silverton Road in Toms River was on my agenda this 4th of July Weekend. I made it happen on Friday the 5th. Rode my bike the 6 miles from my house. It was worth it, as the farm is starting to see a bounty of vegetables from their fields this time of year.
The Jersey tomatoes were grown in their hothouses, and locally picked aren’t ready for another few weeks. However, there were plenty of cukes, zukes, squash, green onions, luscious Jersey white corn and more to be had. If you are still shopping for your produce this time of year in the supermarket, STOP IMMEDIATELY! The best of the best is right here at your local farms, farmers markets, and farm stands! At Silverton Farms, green is the new black…
Silverton Farms has always been organic, even before “organic” was something folks talked about. It was just common sense to them. The family cares deeply about being good stewards of their land–after all, it’s their backyard!
Farm To Table.
If you’re a Jersey Shore Foodie, you’ve got to check out Silverton Farms. Why? Because it’s farm-to-table dinner season at Silverton Farms. On July 12 they will be hosting a F2T tapas-themed dinner with dessert provided by the one and only Miss Mindy’s Ice Cream! A variety of small creative dishes crafted from the best ingredients grown in NJ!
