If You Bought Groceries At Walmart, They Owe You Money
Due to a class action lawsuit you can get part of the Walmart settlement.
There were apparently some shenanigans going on at Walmart’s “Marketplace” center when it came to weighing food. We were chatting about this earlier today. What kind of fast one was being pulled doesn’t matter as much as the fact that if you bought produce there, Walmart owes you money thanks to a Walmart settlement. And if you happen to have saved the receipts, you can get even more. Walmart’s “Marketplace” had a problem with the pricing of their meat and produce and they got busted by a couple of lawyers. That’s turned into a class action lawsuit and a multi-million dollar settlement.
And by multi-million we’re talking 45 million dollars. Here’s how to get your share.
Here’s What The Walmart Settlement Is About
Walmart owes you money as the result of a class action lawsuit that centered on the sales of “weighted meat and produce”. The lawsuit refers to meat, pork, poultry and seafood and citrus sold in weighted mesh bags. The lawsuit claimed that shoppers “paid more than the lowest in-store advertised price” for those items.
While Walmart denied any wrong doing, they also paid 45 million to settle the case. That money is now to be split among the lawyers and the general public who makes a claim on the money.
Here’s How To Get Your Part Of The Walmart Settlement
The $45 million Walmart settlement will be split up between people who shopped at Walmart between October 2018 to January 2024. As is the case with all class action lawsuits, everyone’s take is pretty small. If you bought 50 or fewer qualifying items, you can get $10. If you bought 51 to 75, you can get $15 . 76 to 100 gets you $20. And 101 or more entitles you to $25.
You can get more if you actually kept your receipts. In that case, they’ll give you 2% back on the cost of the weighted goods. But even then the max payout is $500.

Fresh Italian breads, pastries, store made sausages…etc. Monmouth & Ocean Counties are filled with Italian specialty stores, markets, and Salumerias.
According to Bricco Salumeria’s site: A Salumeria is defined as a cured meat shop or Italian deli. Salumeria features many kinds of cured Italian meats such as sausage, salami, prosciutto, honey ham, and many other cold cuts. To cure meat means taking action to preserve the meat and add more flavor to it by adding salt. Salt adds flavor and preserves the meat by drawing out its moisture.
History Of Salumerias
Salumerias originated in Italy during the Middle Ages. When Salumerias first became a thing, they did not produce their own meats, they would select meats and other products from purveyors. Back in the Middle Ages purveyors worked in a guild system to produce these products. The guild system was eventually shut down during the turn of the 19th century.
