Go Fund Me Set Up For Staff Of Local Pizzeria Lost To Weekend Fire
A tragic fire took out a strip mall over the weekend in Brick, New Jersey. Three local businesses were affected by the three alarm blaze. A dry cleaner, a convenience store and Cuzzins Pizza.
Cuzzin’s Pizza on Herbertsville Road in Brick was a community staple. The owners and staff are local families. it’s cool to see locals step up and support other members of the community. In this particular case, a Go Fund Me fundraiser was created by the owner of a different Brick pizzeria. It’s great to see such cooperation among competitors.
Clearly, helping others is what keeps Brick town going. Fire is such a destructive and tragic event.
Fire Takes Out Cuzzins Pizza in Brick
The fire that took out Cuzzins Pizza started during business hours on Saturday, April 27th. In fact, Jays Convenience store was open and enjoying a busy Saturday afternoon as well. The strip mall that Cuzzins Pizza and Jay’s Convenience is in also is the home of a Dry Cleaners. The Dry Cleaners was not open at the time. Fortunately, all employees and customers of both Jays and Cuzzins were able to escape the building as the blaze broke out.
The fire was fought by three local fire departments. The three alarm blaze closed Herbertsville Road on Saturday afternoon.
Go Fund Me Set Up
Shortly after the fire was extinguished by local first responders a Go Fund Me fundraiser was started by a member of the local Brick community. Anthony Carannante set up the fundraiser. Carannante owns a different pizza restaurant nearby and know what it means to serve the local community. Carannante says, “We could only imagine the pain and heartache that Alfredo, the owner of Cuzzins Pizza, is going through along with his staff.”
