Jersey Rock Band of the Week: Tight Lipped
They’re loud, wild, and very, very tight! Tight Lipped is an all-female Punk Rock act from Asbury Park. They describe their sound as “a fistful of 70’s-inspired sleazy surf punk meets glam.” Their debut EP “So Tight” is available now and it pulls no punches. It’s a relentles sonic beatdown that will get your adrenaline flowing. If you’re looking for something to blast while coping with current shut-in state of the world, this is definitely the release for you.

Tight Lipped features Joy Vay on guitar and vocals, Samantha Slick on bass, Kat DaVille on drums, and Lauren Blue Fox on lead guitar. A live performance from the band is an auditory battle royal and might be the most fun you have while injuring your neck head-banging. Though they have only been around for 3 years, Tight Lipped has alreayd embarked on a multi-state tour and played with the likes of The Donnas, The Supersuckers, and The Bangles. Tight Lipped celebrated the release of their “So Tight” EP with a Punk Rock prom at The Brighton Bar on Valentines Day Weekend. They got the show in right under the wire, as live music ended 1 month later. Now that is tight.
Tune to Jersey Rock on 95.9 The Rat Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 11:30 pm to hear cuts from Tight Lipped’s “So Tight” album. The whole band will call in to the show each night!
