Photographer Offers Free Family “Porchtraits”

Ashleigh was recently named as an ambassador with Dolly Parton Imagination Library Tamworth and like many in the music industry has experienced sudden cancellations and rescheduling of all shows and promotional commitments due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Australian government has introduced further restrictions on movement and gatherings in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Public gatherings are now limited to two people, while Australians are being urged to stay home unless absolutely necessary. New South Wales and Victoria have also enacted additional lockdown measures to allow police the power to fine people who breach the two-person outdoor gathering limit or leave their homes without a reasonable excuse. Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania and the Northern Territory have all closed their borders to non-essential travellers and international arrivals into Australia are being sent to mandatory quarantine in hotels for 14 days. The dude has covered 1300 miles in Minnesota capturing families on their front porches…

His name is Dave Puente, and he’s a photo bug.  He had a cool idea during these times of social distancing…

He’s taking family portraits but since he can’t get close to them, he’s snapping their pics – for free – on their front porches.

Dave’s calling them, “porchtraits”….

"At first the quarantine seemed like a tremendous inconvenience, exhausting really. After the first week though there was a shift in perspective, we get to slow down time. I mean isn't that what every parent dreams of?! Now, don't get me wrong some days are overwhelming and frustrating. The other days such as today, are filled with laughter and those sweet innocent giggles only our 8, 4 and 2 year old can provide. While we are worn thin with me working from home and my husband still outside the home we consider ourselves lucky and blessed." - @rasmussen.amber #porchtraits

"At the start of all this craziness we had to make the tough decision to postpone our trip to Guatemala. We were supposed to be serving at the orphanage Stephen worked at 15 years ago. An orphanage that's been a big part of our lives and would have been my first time visiting. But God's timing is perfect and the day we were supposed to have flown out, was the day that Guatemala shut its borders to all foreigners. As my dad has always said, "when life hands you lemons, make lemonade!" Or in our case... MUD!!! - @mrsdeuth #porchtraits

"We have been trying to stay busy by doing activities like baking, little art projects, she's been joining me in home workouts, and I've been trying to continue with a routine like she would have if she were at school. It's tough because I work nights at the hospital, but we have great help and support from family to keep her busy. We read, do workbooks, color, etc. Lucia says she really misses school, her friends and her teacher, even though she says her teacher can "really be hard on us." She's craving that social interaction with her friends and can't wait to see everyone again." @chardea_cornell #porchraits
