Texas Roadhouse Moves One Step Closer To Toms River Opening!
Texas Roadhouse, a national chain specializing in steak and southwest cuisine, is planning to open a long-rumored location in Toms River.
The Louisville Kentucky-based steakhouse chain, with over 600 restaurants nationwide, was approved this past Wednesday for the transfer of a liquor license from a New York-based holdings company. The license will be used for the new Texas Roadhouse location in Toms River, presumably on the property of the Ocean County Mall, at 1251 Hooper Avenue.
Spreading across America.
However, while Texas Roadhouse has locations in 49 states, including Howell, Holmdel, and Hamilton here in New Jersey, this would be the very first Ocean County location for the chain. Moreover, it would bring a steakhouse to an area that has been inundated in recent years with fast food and pizza establishments.
30 years ago it started with a dream.
Texas Roadhouse was founded by Ken Taylor in Clarksville, Indiana 30 years ago. According to their website https://www.texasroadhouse.com/ , Taylor’s vision was to create an
affordable Texas-style restaurant with Hand-Cut Steaks, Fall-Off-The-Bone Ribs, and Ice-Cold Beer. Unfortunately, the problem was finding others to believe in that dream. Well, 30 years and over 600 locations have shown that dream to become an American success story.
More to come.
Meanwhile, we’ll have more on the construction and eventual opening of Toms River’s Texas Roadhouse in the coming months so keep checking back in, and get your appetite ready!
