I love racing around with family and friends on a really good go-cart track. Now, the “world’s largest” go-kart racing course is set to open in New Jersey this fall! According to NJ Advance Media, Supercharged Entertainment, which runs a large go-kart arena in Wrentham, Massachusetts, plans to open the multi-level track in New Jersey this fall that they hope will become a vacation destination for travelers arriving at airports in Newark and New York.
The company states the complex is slated to open in November on Route 1 South in Edison next to Topgolf Edison. A company spokesman went on to say, in addition to the massive racetrack, the 131,000-square-foot complex will have 19 ax-throwing lanes, an arcade with 140 games, an immersive virtual reality area, bumper cars, a Drop-and-Twist tower ride, a restaurant, and two bars. Sounds like a weekend or two of fun! Edison’s karting aspect of the facility will feature multiple tracks with 10 elevation changes. It will be 30 percent larger than the Massachusetts track, and at its largest point, the track will be four cars wide!
The cost for a single ride at the Wrenthem track is $26.99 and $199 for a 10-race bundle, according to the Supercharged Entertainment website. The spokesman went on to say, local pricing will depend on the market and comparable offerings in New Jersey. Currently, RPM Raceway in Jersey City charges $75 for a bundle that includes three rides, $5 for arcade play, and other items. I know folks that have been to RPM and loved it. I also know that it’s big with corporate team-building outings, although I think if you got all of us here at the radio station together to do a team-building exercise on a racetrack, it might turn out to look more like Demolition Derby Night at Wall Stadium! Nevertheless, I will without question make plans this Fall to hit the new Go-Cart track in Edison! What about you?

Believe it or not, Jimmy’s first job was overnights at a Christian Radio Station. He claims he got into radio because like Rocky Balboa once said, “cause I can’t sing or dance.” Jimmy loves to write about all local happenings, especially around his town of Toms River.
