Grocery Shopping Tips and Observations
Don’t go to the grocery store unless it’s absolutely necessary! Just because you only have 8 dozen eggs left in the fridge and sixty five rolls of toilet paper in your garage doesn’t mean you are running low. Leave some for the rest of us! While it may look like there’s a food shortage, there isn’t, it’s just a bunch of inconsiderate hoarders who think the world’s coming to an end. I can assure you it is NOT!
At times, the place is a madhouse, so maybe go during off peak hours and of course practice social distancing. Make sure to wipe down the shopping cart handles before you grab your cart out of the corral, and return them to the place you took them from, you already know how I feel about runaway shopping carts. Although I haven’t been in a grocery store since last Sunday, I noticed people not wiping down the self service checkout before putting their items down. Are you crazy? Also, if you’re going to use a credit or debit card which I highly recommend, wipe down the keypad!
My last trip to the grocery store included a baggie with disinfectant wipes and latex gloves. I received a few eye rolls and an angry comment for taking too long to checkout due to my diligence. I heard some lady yell, “Come on lady, I don’t have all day waiting for you to play doctor over here.” I of course ignored her and went about my business. Let’s be courteous and tolerant more now than ever please.
