(WATCH) Jersey Rock Video of the Week: Serious Matters “Patterns”
Rocking The Saint in Asbury Park Thursday 2/8 and The Bowery Electric in NYC Sunday 2/11!
Serious Matters is an Alternative/Post-Hardcore group from Union Beach. Their sound has a very 2000’s feel to it, drawing influence from the likes of Coheed And Cambria, Dance Gavin Dance and Thrice. If you’re already feeling nostalgic for the glory days of myspace.com and the Motorola Razr Serious Matters is definitely the band you want in your top 8.
Serious Matters’ latest EP “Through It All” is out now. A follow-up to their debut “Can You See The Sky From Here” disc, the EP is their first release on the Manic Kat Records label. It’s an awesome collection of high-energy, hard-rocking tracks. You can score a copy of both EP’s at seriousmattersnj.com.
Don’t miss Serious Matters at The Saint in Asbury Park this Thursday 2/8! They’re on the bill with Complicated Matter and Ideosphere. Tickets are $5 in advance and are available at ticketweb.com.
Hot off rocking The Saint Serious Matters will take the stage at The Bowery Electric in New York on Sunday 2/11. They’re playing with Pinstripe Loveseat, Young Poet, and Cult Classic. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door and are available at ticketfly.com.
The video for “Patterns” is dark and driving as it cuts back and forth between footage of Serious Matters performing and a story of coping with grief. It was produced by Shane Kelly.
