Asbury Park beach bonfires will move up and down the beach, visiting different avenues and locations over the course of the 2024 summer season. Locals like us will love the fact that the schedule kicks off well before the official beginning of summer. Here's the complete schedule, as announced recently on social media. Keep your fingers crossed for great summer weather!
One note: These are organized bonfires. Private bonfires on the beach are illegal on the Jersey shore. Some towns may allow you to apply for a permit to have a bonfire but we suggest you research very well that before striking a match.
Asbury Park Beach Bonfires Schedule
The cool news is that the Asbury Park beach bonfires season kicks off well before the official start of the summer season. First bonfire is set for Friday, May 3rd. The schedule includes every Friday in May and June. In July the bonfires move to Wednesday night. The Wednesday schedule continues through the dog days of summer in August. And we can look forward to the Asbury Park beach bonfires continuing into September as the schedule goes back to Fridays.
This year the location of the beach bonfires in Asbury will move to different locations along the beach. See the schedule for complete location details. Bring your blankets, chairs, a guitar or whatever and enjoy a relaxing time on the beach.
May 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st the bonfires are at 5th avenue beginning at 7pm.
In June the fire is lit at 7pm. June 7th at 1st Ave. June 14th at 5th Ave. June 21st at 4th Ave and June 28th at 3rd Avenue.
In July: 10th at 5th Ave. 17th at 3rd Ave. 24th at 1st Avenue and the 31st at 5th. Note: The bonfire schedule skips the holiday week of July 4th.
The August schedule is: 7th at 1st Ave, 14th at 3rd Ave. The 21st is at 4th while the 28th is at 5th.
All the September bonfires are at 5th Avenue with the exception of September 13th which will be held at 1st Avenue. That, of course, is the weekend of the Sea.Hear.Now music festival. How cool will it be to enjoy a bonfire while the music plays just down the beach?
All of the Asbury Park beach bonfires are weather permitting so keep up with the Asbury Park Boardwalk social media for possible updates. Speaking of Asbury Park, have you seen all these cool old videos from back in the day? Check this out:
Throwing It Back To Awesome Retro Videos Of Palace Amusements In Asbury Park!
These videos are absolutely awesome! Check out these tremendous old school clips from the '80's of the legendary Palace Amusements in Asbury Park.
This really gets those nostalgia fires burning. My grandma and grandpa moved from the Bronx, NY to Asbury in 1968...and the most special place on Earth to me, as a kid, was Palace Amusements.
It's weird because I watch these fantastic retro movies and they make me feel like I was just there. I can still remember what Palace Amusements sounded and smelled like.
I also remember how dark it was inside...I don't think that's the '80's quality film...it always seemed to bit lit darkly...but that only added to the mystery and fun of the place.
I really do miss Palace Amusements. Having kids now...I wish I could bring them to this magical spot. So enjoy these videos...they bring back some great memories!
