Holmdel native Matt O’Ree is a stage-tested, time-tested Guitar Hero.  Active since the early 1990’s, he has continuously pushed forward, providing serious inspiration for all up-and-coming Jersey Rockers. Today he stands atop a mountain of achievements, however it is clear that his ascension has yet to reach its limit.

After earning local acclaim by gigging across the state, Matt O’Ree achieved national recognition in 2005 when his third album “Shelf Life” was featured in Guitar World Magazine.  One year later he would go on to defeat 4000 other guitarists to win the Guitarmageddon “King Of Blues” guitar contest hosted by B.B. King and John Mayer.  His group The Matt O’Ree Band has opened for a long list of legendary acts including Foreigner, Kansas, Blue Oyster Cult, Govt’ Mule, and Buddy Guy.  The five-time Asbury Park Music Award winner most recently toured with Bon Jovi as their rhythm guitar player.

Matt O’Ree Band is made up of Matt O'Ree, Scott Bennert, John Hummel, Eryn Shewell, and Layonne Holmes.  Also known as M.O.B, the group puts out a well-crafted brand of Blues-Rock.  It’s on full display in the their latest effort “Brotherhood.”  While the album boasts a satisfying amount of driving, hard-rocking tracks, it definitely has more than one speed.  The LP can slow it down when needed as well as push the tempo into overdrive.  “Brotherhood” features 12 powerful tracks and special guest appearances from Bruce Springsteen on “Black Boots” and David Bryan on “My Everything Is You.”  The album is highly recommended for all fans of serious guitar-driven Rock!
