Jersey Rock Band of the Week: Slapjack
Playing Rock The Farm in Seaside Heights This Saturday 9/16!
Slapjack is a bluesy Rock quartet that takes its influence from the Rock of the 1960’s and 70’s. The group is comprised of an all-star lineup of 15-18 year-olds from the renowned Lakehouse Music Academy in Asbury Park. Slapjack’s stated goal is to “bring an inner soul and energy to every performance.”
Despite only being on the scene for a short time, the band has already logged hours on the stages of a number of well-known Asbury venues, including The Stone Pony, House Of Independents, and The Saint and have pushed into neighboring Bradley Beach, Sea Girt, Manasquan and Belmar. In 2015 Slapjack made it to the finals of The Stone Pony’s “Rock To The Top” Competition. The group was recently named as “Top Young Band” by the AMA.
Slapjack is currently working on their debut release. Tune to Jersey Rock on 95.9 The Rat on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to hear 3 brand new, unreleased tracks from the band. Slapjack bassist, keyboardist, and back-up vocalist Noah will call in to the show each night!
You can catch Slapjack this Saturday 9/16 at the Rock The Farm Music and Food Truck Festival in Seaside Heights. The event, dubbed “Faux-Chella,” is in its fourth year. All proceeds from the festival benefit the CFC Loud N Clear Foundation, a group aimed at aiding individuals recovery from substance abuse. Learn more about the CFC Loud N Clear Foundation HERE.
