Car Meet Takes Over Belmar Beachfront
The residents of Belmar, New Jersey have been experiencing what is being called a “pop-up car meet” in their town. The second one took place Monday night (February 24) along Ocean Avenue.
While catching the entire town off-guard, it is causing quite the disturbance. According to NJ.com, “local police officers were waiting for hem after spotting a social media call for the meet in the Jersey Shore town.”
The photos and videos that have surfaced show hundreds of people in attendance with cars parked outside of the 7-Eleven at the beach. NJ.com revealed that tickets were written up for mostly parking and motor vehicle violations during the event.
“Busy night for Belmar PD. A pop up car rally last night in BELMAR on a Monday night, did not go over well with residents,” the Belmar Beach NJ Facebook stated.
@Belmar_NJ Cars have been racing around the streets near 8th Avenue for well over an hour. Is there any plan to stop this nonsense?
