Jersey Rock Band of the Week: Lunatic Fringe
Bringing The Freakshow to the Rocky Horror Picture Show at Dingbatz in Clifton on Friday 10/19!
Lunatic Fringe takes their cues from the likes of Alice Cooper and Marilyn Manson. The group’s Shock Rock image pairs very well with their Metal-edged Hard Rock sound, however there’s a more to them than just that. Lunatic Fringe is a multi-faceted act whose songs straddle a wide range of tempos. Their agile sound can quickly switch gears from high-octane horror Rock to a 1950’s surfer sound. Versatility paired with striking theatrical presentation is one of the band’s greatest strengths.
Lunatic Fringe’s “Freakshow” EP is out now. It’s the perfect collection of tracks to rock out to while carving a jack-o-lantern or working an ouiji board. Score a copy of the disc at lunaticfringeband.com.
Lunatic Fringe will rock 2 Halloween-inspired events in the second half of October. The first of which is this Friday 10/19. The band is on the bill for the Rocky Horror Picture Show at Dingbatz in Clifton. The evening is headlined by ex-Misfits drummer Dr. Chud’s X-ward. Ogre, The Sadists, The Angry Pirates, and Unlabled are also on the bill. Learn more at dingbatznj.com.
If you can’t make the 10/19 show, but still need some lunacy in your life ahead of Halloween you can catch Lunatic Fringe at Lucky 13 in Brooklyn on 10/28. Learn more at lucky13saloon.com.
