10 Years Strong in Jackson
Come hungry and thirsty at 6:30 pm for a fun evening with great food, drinks, raffles, a wing-eating contest, and a DJ. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to enjoy a tasty meal and relax with friends. Mark your calendar! This turned out to be a huge success last year. Here’s a story we wrote about it.
There is parking behind the firehouse, but parking fills quickly! If the lot is full, you are welcome to park in the Johnson Elementary parking lot or Camp Joy at your own risk. Please do not park on the ramp in front of the station. That is where the Fire Department volunteers park so we can respond to calls. Furthermore, there will also be a 50/50 raffle as well as a raffle for several items donated by vendors from all over. There are small medium and large prizes so be on the lookout!
Tickets are 50 dollars in advance and can be purchased here. Any remaining tickets the night of the event will be sold at the door for 60 dollars. For more info, you can visit the Jackson Fire Company Number 1 Station 55’s website.
About Station 55.
Station 55 Provides Jackson Fire District 3 Residents with fire protection, apparatus, and manpower responding from two buildings in the northeast section of Jackson: Station 55 (Main) – 113 North New Prospect Road, and Station 55-1 (Substation) – 200 Kierych Memorial Drive, Jackson. According to the Station 55 website, the Jackson Twp. Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 was chartered on March 3’rd 1951. It was originally named the “Hulses Corner Fire Company” and was located on Brooks Road (now North New Prospect near the I- 195 Overpass.) Adequate manpower and membership were established from the local farmers, and in 1961 – 11 Members joined together and leveraged their own money and houses as collateral, to purchase the land and building we occupy to this day. Thanks to those founding members the Volunteer Company owns and operates the main station at 113 North New Prospect Road on their own accord.
