HBO2 Is Doing A 7 Day Sopranos Marathon
You gotta love New Jersey’s greatest television export in the history of the medium. With the possible exception of the Batman franchise (because the fictional city of Gotham City was located in New Jersey), I’m talking about HBO’s The Sopranos. The Sopranos changed everything that television could do when it debuted in 1999. There’s only one Sopranos. Not many shows have come close to what this show did. HBO is again airing a Sopranos marathon airing every episode of every season.
The marathon of every Sopranos episode of every season will begin on Friday, January 5th on HBO2. The marathon will begin each day at 12 noon and continue through midnight.

LOS ANGELES, CA – SEPTEMBER 16: The cast of the Sopranos accepts the Outstanding Directing in a Drama Series award onstage during the 59th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards at the Shrine Auditorium on September 16, 2007 in Los Angeles, California.
I love the timing of this because you don’t have to wake up early and you really don’t have to stay up too late to catch the whole marathon. The timing of the Sopranos marathon also means that you’ll get one full season each day. From first to last. That means that if you’d like to plan ahead to catch a particular episode or make sure you get to see a particular Sopranos scene, you can.
For example. Want to be sure to see the Asbury Park boardwalk on the Sopranos? Then you can tune into the marathon during season two. In season 2, episode 13 Tony will be on the boards. That episode will air on Saturday, January 6 at 10:45pm. Of course, there’s also a Asbury Park boardwalk scene in season 3. That episode will air Sunday, January 7th at 8:21.
Catch our Jersey Shore town of Sea Bright in the Sopranos episode, “Whitecaps” which will air at about 11pm on Monday, January 8th.
Wanna see James Gandolfini’s character Tony say to Bobby that classic line, “I think it’s time you seriously considered salads.” Then tune in to HBO2 for Season 2, Episode 2 which airs Saturday, January 6th at 12:52pm.

Wanna hear Tony Soprano say that the, “papers are calling this the year of the RAT”? You’ll have to watch season 6A for that one.
The Sopranos changed television. And did it in a very Jersey way. Thank you, James. Well, done, sir.
