It’s Pork Roll, Not Taylor Ham
Here we go again. It’s pork roll. Dammit! The ages old debate on the correct name of the breakfast meat we all know and love is here again. This breakfast sensation is so great, one guy is eating his way through the state…
You people calling it, “Taylor Ham” have a screw loose. You probably have poor taste in home decor too and I’ll bet that your dogs are poorly trained.
For the millionth time: It’s PORK ROLL. Taylor is a BRAND of PORK ROLL.
There’s zillions of examples of the correct name rolling around our wonderful state… and now there’s another example that is rolling our this great country of ours. That’s right: Pork Roll as the official name is now a national thing.
What is this example? The new Heinz ketchup package. Heinz recently announced that they were coming out with specialized packets designed for each of our states. There’s even a nifty little contest with the whole thing. They’re calling it “Saucemerica”.
But have you seen the design of the Heinz ketchup packet for New Jersey? It clearly shows a breakfast sandwich. Under the the picture of the Jersey classic are the words, “Pork Roll Sandwich”.
These packets are found in Idaho from a member of the Rat Rock Nation who was travelling on vacation.

There you go… It’s not TAYLOR HAM. It’s PORK ROLL.
Things We Love: Sandy Hook
It’s not a secret. The tippy top of the Jersey Shore is a pretty spectacular place. There’s so much to do at Sandy Hook.
Fishing, surfing, running, biking, sail boarding, exploring history, wild life watching and even going “full monte” at the only beach north of Florida where you can fully naked!
Today, we’re saluting this great treasure of the Jersey shore that puts a magnificent end to the Bay Shore beach areas along the Raritan and Sandy Hook Bays and starts the 130+ mile north to south stretch of Atlantic coast down to Cape May. Sandy Hook, we love it!
Here’s a fun tip for you, parking can be pricey at Sandy Hook in the summer but if you arrive at the front gates between 6 and 7am you’ll get a free pass on parking.
We were fortunate to have a lot of our friends on social media contribute images to our collection. Others are contributed by the National Park Service! More pictures will be added as we receive them and process them.
When Carl is not working at the greatest rock radio station known to mankind; a station known around the globe; a station that has the best music, co-workers, advertisers and most importantly THE BEST F'N LISTENERS you may find me doing any one of the following: Riding or making mountain bike trails. playing with his kids. playing sand volleyball on 5th Ave, cooking amazing food, including on his sweet smoker grill, going to concerts, swimming in the ocean, going to amusement parks with his kids, and other stuff that rocks!
