If you’re a Rutgers fan and really had a wonderful Thanksgiving you will love the fact that our New Brunswick Scarlet Knights, the marching band is coming to play and march their own tunes in the 2023 Thanksgiving Day Parade.
It turns out they did such a great job and were picked from like 100 applications. It will be a sight to see Rutgers march down this because I know many people who attended this school.
This will be the 97th Thanksgiving Parade so it’s nice to hear that we were picked with 10 other bands. Rutgers has a lot of history from that school and some great talent that attended the University. Check out some of the famous people that got their education if you didn’t know already.
Calista Flockhart, the star of Ally McBeal, got her degree from Rutgers back in 1988. Dave Stern former NBA commissioner got his degree back in 1963. Marc Ecko from Lakewood attended Rutgers and became a pharmacist but left back in 93 to become one of the biggest successful fashion designers, Elizabeth Warren got her law degree at the Newark addition of Rutgers, got into politics, and got the spot of U.S SEN of Massachusetts.
TV star Oswald “Ozzie” Nelson got his undergraduate degree back in 1927. So, Rutgers goes back in the day to get some of the greats on our feet and going. There are a lot of greats but there is one we all know and really is part of our time and won not only a bunch of awards but had a good number of eyes on his hit roll and Jersey’s show called ” The Sopranos” that right the infamous mob boss James Gandolfini !! AKA Tony Soprano himself went and got “HIS PAPERS” from Rutgers back in 1984.
So, Rutgers fans we have a lot to appreciate and many things to be thankful for in 2023, and congrats to The Scarlet Knights marching band!!
Happy Thanksgiving!
