Shore Awards Check-In: Divi Tree- Best Coffee Shop
It’s year two for THE WRAT’S SHORE AWARDS as we shine the spotlight on Jersey hot spots and businesses of all kinds. All nominees were submitted and voted on by RAT listeners, and the cool thing for me and I’m sure many others is discovering places we never knew existed.
I had no idea that a cool family-owned coffee place called “Divi Tree Coffee” was such a big deal. After we announced they’d won the Shore Award for “Best Coffee Shop”, I received a call on the request line from “Jay The Painter,” a familiar name to my midday audience telling me that his daughter Maylon, and Son-in-law Joe were the owners. I ventured out to this artisan coffee shop on Bridge Avenue in Point Pleasant to check the place out.
The list of drinks is a bit overwhelming because they are more than just coffee. After surveying the extensive menu of beverages both hot and cold, I decided with the help of Max behind the counter that a 16-ounce iced Matcha tea latte would do just fine, skim milk for me, please. It was perfect for me because it wasn’t overly sweet.
The baked goods looked fabulous! They bake everything on the premises with the exception of the bagels and croissants. Early risers will be happy to know they serve breakfast along with homemade coconut macaroons, muffins, scones, and a lovely array of sandwiches. They have a nice assortment of gluten-free items, and if you’re Keto, they have Bulletproof coffee on the menu.
You can also purchase coffee beans. Their website says, “Hand-roasted in small batches by craft roasters for four generations. Our supplier’s source, cup, craft-roast and deliver only the best beans the world has to offer. These include sustainable Direct Trade, Fair Trade, and Certified Organic, and Rainforest Alliance selections chosen with special consideration for the well-being of cooperative farmers, wildlife, and the Earth.
Congratulations to Maylon, Joe, and their whole crew! Now I know why Divi Tree was voted “Best Coffee Shop” on the Jersey Shore.
