…June 18th, 1977 marks one of the scarier days for the punk rock scene.

It was on this day that Johnny Rotten and Paul Cook of the Sex Pistols were attacked, stabbed, and beaten by a British gang.

The assailants were apparently offended by the Pistols’ revolutionary song, “God Save The Queen”.

Rotten and Cook recovered…but it was a frightening incident for the musicians.
