Jersey Rock Band of the Week: Soraia
Rocking The Johnny Thunders Birthday Bash at the Bowery Electric in NYC on 7/14!
Soraia is a rising force in the region. Their Garage Rock sound has filled clubs across the area, from New York to Philly and beyond. While they’re not entirely from NJ they definitely have some Garden State Roots. Guitarist Mike Reisman is a NJ native and the label they are signed to is none other than Little Steven’s Wicked Cool Records.
Soraia’s debut release “Dead Reckoning” is out now. The band describes the album in a most artistic fashion by comparing each track to the regenerative tentacles of an octopus, stretching out from the core that is the band’s own imagination. “This mysterious capacity for creativity and rejuvenation under the sea symbolically presents itself again and again in the songs of ‘Dead Reckoning.’”
