Jersey Rock Band of the Week: The Porchistas
Celebrating 10 Years of Rocking NJ at Tierney’s Tavern in Montclair on 12/21!
In the span of just 10 years Montclair’s porch-dwelling Folk Rockers The Porchistas have put out 7 releases, 6 of which are full-length albums. They have been through line-up changes and all the challenges that any band faces but they are still pushing forward and producing great music. On the Winter Solstice they will celebrate their 10-year milestone with a very special show at Tierney’s Tavern in Montclair.
The Porchistas’ 10th Anniversary Show rocks Tierney’s Tavern in Montclair on Friday 12/21. It will be nothing short of a killer party. The band will be joined by former members on stage and 2 well-acquainted band on the bill. Bern & The Brights and The Defending Champions will join The Porchistas for a Montclair Rock family reunion. All 3 bands started around the same time and have a lot of history with each other. Expect a seriously friendly atmosphere!

The Porchistas latest album “Porch Drive” is out now. The LP comes on a USB flash drive wristband that not only includes all the tracks, but the album art as well. You can plug it into your car USB port or computer and listen to the mp3’s or burn your own Porchistas CD. “Porch Drive” is available along with the band’s entire extensive discography on the music page at theporchistas.bandcamp.com.
Tune to Jersey Rock on 95.9 The Rat Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 11:30 pm to hear tracks from the latest 3 releases from The Porchistas. On Tuesday we’ll do a cut from “Porch Drive.” Wednesday will feature a track from the 2017 EP “Axis & Allies.” We’ll close out the week with a tune from the band’s 2014 album “Shoot It At The Sun.” Alan Smith will call in to the show each night!
