Jersey Rock Artist of the Week: Erik Mason
Summer Benefit Tour Rocks House Of Independents in Asbury Park on Thursday7/5!
Erik Mason is what Billy Joel would call a “Piano Man.” The 21-year-old has been performing since the age of 5 and working on original material since the age of 19. His accessible Indie Rock sound is driven by his skill on the ivories and an upbeat energy that can lighten just about any mood. A native of Brielle, he spent the last several years sharpening his skills in Brooklyn and is now ready for a homecoming.
Erik Mason returns to the Jersey Shore not only to share his music, but to raise money for 3 local charities. The Erik Mason Summer Benefit Tour aims to raise money for The Monmouth County SPCA, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth & Middlesex Counties, and Foodstock NJ. The next stop on the tour is Thursday 7/5 at House Of Independents in Asbury Park with Ian Bamberger. Doors are at 7:00 pm. It’s an all ages show. Tickets are $14 in advance and are available at ticketweb.com.
Erik Mason’s self-titled debut EP is out now. It deals with themes relating to “the heart and mind of an adolescent confronting the realities of his expanding world, all while attempting to reconcile some of the inevitable circumstances that come with growing up.” It is a very relateable work. You can score a copy at erikmasonmusic.com!
Tune to Jersey Rock on 95.9 The Rat Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 11:30 pm to hear cuts from Erik Mason’s eponymous EP. Erik will call in to the show each night!
