Jersey Rock Band of the Week: Skyeline
Rocking The Meatlocker in Montclair this Thursday 1/11 and The Saige Cafe in Philadelphia on Saturday 1/20!
Skyeline is a fresh Alternative Rock band from Ocean County. Formed in the Winter of 2015 by members of the Ocean County Vocational Technical School and the Performing Arts Academy, the group has already done a lot to establish itself on the Jersey Rock scene. Skyeline has played a number of live shows, including Techfest and 95.9 The Rat’s Jersey Rock Live at the Pier series. They also performed live in the WRAT studio last March. If they keep up the pace, it will only be a matter of time before they achieve serious local acclaim.
Skyeline’s debut album “Something About Your Basement” is out now. It’s full of great tracks with deep, emotional meaning. On the surface the songs come across as radio-friendly Alt Rock ear candy, but there’s much more to them than that. Each tune is crafted from personal experience with some dark undertones that ultimately come across in a rather bright fashion. Overall it is an excellent debut release.

Tune to Jersey Rock on 95.9 The Rat on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 11:30 pm to hear cuts from the new album. Skyeline singer Brittany Byrne will call in to the show each night.

Skyeline will be in action later this month on 1/20 when they rock The Saige Cafe, located at 1631 Wallace Street in Philadelphia. They’re on the bill for “The Waiting Room,” a night of music, poetry and visual art. Tickets are $5 in advance and come with a complimentary cup of coffee and raffle ticket.
