Jersey Rock Band of the Week: The Front Bottoms
Headlining Champagne Jam at Convention Hall in Asbury Park on Saturday 12/16!
What started out as a duo of childhood friends jamming together in Woodcliff Lake, Bergen County has evolved into an internationally-touring Indie Rock act of well-earned acclaim. It’s been roughly a decade since Brian Sella and Mat Uychich formed The Front Bottoms. In that time the duo has rocked venues from Maxwell’s in Hoboken to London’s O2 Arena. They have toured with a number of high-profile acts, including Brand New, Say Anything, and Blink 182 and played festivals like Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, and Coachella. Through it all they have not forgotten where they came from, always making it a point to rock their home state and support NJ charities.
The Front Bottoms will enjoy a homecoming on Saturday 12/16 when they take the stage at Champagne Jam at Convention Hall in Asbury Park. Joining them on the bill are AJJ, The Districts, White Reaper, Delicate Steve, American Trappist, Slaughter Beach, Dog, The Big Easy, Weakened Friends, and Strange Eclipse. Doors are at 4:00 pm. Tickets are $28 and are available at ticketmaster.com and The Stone Pony Box Office.
Champagne Jam will not only be a fun night of great music, it will also aid children in our area this Holiday Season. Attendees are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy for The Asbury Park Toy Drive. The Front Bottoms’ latest album “Going Grey” was released in Mid-October. Don’t let the title fool you. While the LP’s theme deals with growing older and wiser, every composition is full of youthful power. It’s a great listen whether you’re 15 or 55.
