Rami Malek Wins Best Actor for ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’
Rami Malek and his incredible performance as Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody has yielded him an Academy Award for Best Actor.
“I may not have been the obvious choice, but I guess it worked out,” said Malek in his acceptance speech. He also made sure to thank Queen and said, “I am forever in your debt.”
Malek touched on the importance of Mercury’s story being told saying, “I think to anyone struggling… we made a film about a gay man, an immigrant, who lived his life just unapologetically himself. The fact that I’m celebrating him and this story with you tonight is proof that we’re longing for stories like this.”
