You Can’t Set Up This Stuff At Brick Beach This Summer
Just in from Brick, New Jersey: No tents on Brick beach this summer. The new rule on what you can’t set up on the beach includes tents and canopies. This new rule will be in effect for the 2024 summer and possibly 2025 as the township changes up what you can set up on the Brick township beach front due to new space limitations. Badges are still required, prices remain the same as last year.
The Brick township town council is struggling to make plans for the township’s ocean front after a long and damaging fall and winter storm season. The multiple Nor’easters swept away a lot of beach in the 2023/’24 storm season. So much of the beach front was washed away, the town council is concerned about having enough space on the beach. Limiting tents and canopies will allow more people to have access to the beach.
Township officials were fast to say that beach umbrellas are still ok. It’s just tents on Brick beach (and canopies) that are a no-go.
Mayor Lisa Crate said. “Restricting tents and canopies will safeguard our beachgoers from potential hazards associated with overcrowding.”
The only exception to the new “no tents on Brick beach” rule are tents or canopies for small children. According to the announcement, those tents must measure 40 inches x 40 inches.
No Tents On Brick Beach Or Canopies
Tents are banned on many Jersey shore beaches because they block the view for first responders who may be needed to identify a beach emergency. In the time of a drowning or beach collapse emergency, a view blocked by a four-sided tent can delay a first responder when every second counts. Canopies, however, aren’t banned by too many local beaches.
Beach canopies are those sun protective units that stretch out many feet beyond the protected area with ropes attached to sand bags and one or two poles for support. The canopies work great and look really cool on the beach because they create a patch of shade without the middle pole… but they take up a lot of room. So, Bricktown says: “No go, there’s not enough room.”
Again, umbrellas are ok because they take up less room. It will be interesting to see how heavily this rule is enforced. For example, will tents on Brick beach be ok on those beautiful Monday and Tuesday afternoons when it’s just you and a handful of other locals? Time will tell.
Meanwhile, just down the beach in Seaside Heights, they’re planning their summer vibes as well…

For The Love Of Seaside Heights Concerts
Seaside Heights represents a lot of things. Hanging on the beach with your friends, enjoying frosty cold adult beverages at your favorite bars and clubs, a sunny day out on the sand, and surf with your family.
Or, enjoying a slice of boardwalk pizza, going on the rides at Casino Pier & Breakwater Beach, shopping at all the great stores on the boardwalk, and a ton of other fun memorable activities.
My favorite thing is taking in lots of live music events. If we’re going to be real here, it’s pretty much impossible to see every single live music event in Seaside, but a girl can try. I live right over the bridge.
The Jersey Shore is my home and music is my life. What better way to enjoy it than with live music from some of the best original bands, as well as cover bands paying tribute to some of the greatest music ever made?

An array of bands that a few generations have grown up with. Striking up memories of our misspent youth and fun times with our friends and family.
Some of these tribute bands are spot-on with their arrangements and vocals. It sure beats paying hundreds of dollars and those inconvenience fees. Most of these concerts on the beach are free.
Memorial Day weekend for most of us starts when the 5 o’clock whistle blows on Friday, May 24th, which is the unofficial kick-off of summer at the Jersey Shore.
