Looking at the festivities at Yankee Stadium yesterday…Paul O’Neill was a classic Yankee and a true “Warrior” (as he was affectionately known by Yankee fans).   O’Neill came to the Yankees in 1992 in a trade with the Cincinnati Reds.   He would go on to play nine seasons for the Yanks…hitting .303 as a Bronx Bomber…making five All Star teams…winning four World Series titles…and becoming a team leader and fan favorite.   O’Neill had the fire for baseball that Yankee fans loved.   Whether he was attempting to stretch a single into a double with sheer hustle…or taking out his frustrations on the nearest water cooler…O’Neill had PASSION.   Something THIS Yankee team is in desperate need of.   The Yanks of 2022 could use O’Neill’s sheer competitive spirit and willingness to do anything for a win.   He was the ultimate team-mate and a fantastic player on top of it.   Congrats to Number 21…the great Paul O’Neill…The Warrior…on his wonderful Yankee honor.   He deserves it!   Now scroll down for the Sports Report!

  • Yankees Take Down Blue Jays On Paul O'Neill Day!

The Yanks finally got a win over the Blue Jays on Paul O’Neill Day as the Yanks beat Toronto in a close one…final score…Yankees 4…Blue Jays 2.   Nestor Cortes pitched well for the Yanks but the bullpen let up a run late to make the game tied at 2-2.   However, in the 7th inning, Andrew Benintendi hit a tie-breaking two-run home run that was the ultimate game-winner.   The Yanks improve to 74 and 48…eight games in front of the Blue Jays and Rays for first place in the A.L. East.

  • Brady & Gronk Could Have Gone To Vegas?

More football news.   This is an interesting story.    UFC President Dana White says that he was personally involved in trying to get Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski to the Las Vegas Raiders a few years ago when both players were free agents.   White says that both Brady and Gronk wanted to go to Vegas…but that head coach Jon Gruden…who originally liked the idea…ultimately decided against it.   WOW. What was Gruden thinking? Brady and Gronk would of course go to the Tampa Bay Bucs and win a Super Bowl.
