Good morning, Sports amigos! Davey Mac is back with another action-packed Sports Report for ya! We’ve got all kinds of sports in the news…but first!
Did you see the article about Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter and FOX Sports? Apparently, the executives at FOX asked A-Rod if it was okay for the network to hire Jeter for their MLB studio show (which Rodriguez is a part of).

The New York Post reports that FOX bigwigs asked A-Rod for his approval of Jeter’s hiring since the two former Yankees have had quite the history. If you watched the excellent docuseries The Captain on ESPN, you would have learned that indeed the two All Stars were good friends when they were younger…but grew distant after A-Rod said a few unflattering things about the Yankee short stop in the media.

However, after the two reunited on Sunday Night Baseball with A-Rod and Michal Kay…the legendary Yankee pair seemed to warm up to each other. A-Rod has since said that the two of them have gone to dinner and smoothed things over. The duo are back on the same page.

I’m surprised that the FOX execs actually sought A-Rod’s approval. What would have happened if he said “no” to Jeter joining the studio team? That would have been dicey! In any event, looks like everyone is good to go…and a Jeter and A-Rod broadcasting team is pretty cool. I’m Davey Mac…that’s my Sports Two Cents.

Knicks Destroy Rockets
Let’s start with basketball…where the Knicks dominated the Rockets last night…137 to 115. It was a career-high for the Knicks’ Immanuel Quickley as I.Q. had 40 points and 9 assists in his start for the injured Jalen Brunson. Julius Randle added 26 points…as the Knicks improve to 43 and 33…still in the 5th spot in the Eastern Conference with just six games to go in the regular season.

Sixers Lose To Nuggets
The 76’ers lost to the Nuggets…116 to 111. Denver superstar Nikola Jokic had 25 points, 17 rebounds, and 12 assists in the game. The Sixers drop to 49 and 26…still 3rd in the East.

Nets Play Wednesday
The Nets were off. They next play on Wednesday. The Nets are currently 40 and 35 and tied (record-wise) with the Miami Heat for the sixth spot in the East. The top six teams in each conference avoid the play-in series.

The Devils were crushed by the Islanders…5 to 1. The Devils are still 46-20-8 for the season (second in the Metropolitan Division).

Jets Trying To Outwait Packers With Rodgers Deal
Meanwhile, Jets GM Joe Douglas is saying there’s no rush on the Aaron Rodgers deal with the Packers. He also said there’s no plans for the Jets inquiring about Lamar Jackson. Jackson just revealed that he wants to be traded. But the Jets are saying they’re not in it…they’re staying focused on Rodgers.
