Benefit Art Show To Honor Sarah Stern
Local event to remember a friend announced.
The APP reports that one of Sarah Stern’s friends is organizing an art show in her honor a week from this Saturday. Sarah Stern of Neptune was the young woman who went missing on December 2nd 2016. Two men were found guilty of her murder after her car was found on the Route 35 bridge, though her remains were never found.
This special art show is a way for her group of friends to change the perception of the memory of their friend from the awful news of those days to focus more on what they know and love about their memory of Sarah: her spirit and humanity.
Sarah was active in her high school art scene and active in the Asbury Park scene as well. This art show is a way for her friends to bring together two things she loved.
Maria Lynch, Sarah’s friend and organizer of this event says: “I feel like there’s this bad stigma when Sarah’s name is mentioned, and I don’t want her to be remembered from what happened I want her to be remembered as this amazing person she was and artist.”
The art show in her honor is Saturday, the 25th at the Bond Street Basement Bar. The Sarah Stern Memorial Art Show Scholarship Fundraiser is from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Donations to benefit the scholarship in her name will be accepted.
